of Greater Augusta - LVA - was formed in 1973 through

the efforts of Peg Morrill and others like her who believed that

the foundation of our society relies on individuals who

not only can read with understanding but write with clarity

who can not only speak, but listen and truly hear.

LVA is a non-profit organization and exists to

improve the reading, writing and related literacy skills of

area adults who read below the 6th grade level.

Our trained tutors offer one-to-one learning centered instruction

in basic literacy and support for English speakers of other

language - ESOL.

All of our services are free, private,

and confidential.
